Jgraphpaper

I do landscaping and woodworking projects at home. Many times I want to step away from the computer and sketch out my designs before I start. I threw together a basic graph papper generator so I can use the whole page for my project, no rulers required.
It also has a setting for creating non-square grids (at the request of my mom for knitting projects :)).

Currently it supports two basic graphs:

  • Basic Square Grid with Major/Minor marks. I use this mostly for projects arround the house where I want to use the whole page and have either 3in or 4in per minor division.
  • Basic Non-Square grid. This was implemented for my Mom for knitting projects. Division sizes can be set in 1/72th of an inch increments.

Known issues:

  • Pen width is light on print outs for the square grid/home project grid.
  • Needs at least Java 1.4 runtime environment.
  • Margin is hard coded to 1 inch in print out.

jgraphpaper is licensed under the GPL and you can download the source for the latest release here:
jgraphpaper-0.21.tar.gz

However the easiest way to run the application is to load the applet.

Enjoy!
